![]() The water park is BADLY in need of updates and deep cleaning. Our room coffee maker didn’t work, and the room hadn’t been updated since it opened im pretty sure. And on top of that the shower drain was plugged and flooded our bathroom if we showered at all. We were put in a handicap room without being asked which meant no bathtub for our 2.5 year old. Our room was VERY run down and pretty gross. We were so excited to go and spend a couple of days in the winter and were sadly disappointed and feel we wasted a lot of money. I would consider a minimal dining pass to buy food at the waterpark so you can maximize your fun without having to get dressed to go elsewhere. My kid though the $9 cheeseburger was the best ever. We did not partake in much onsite dining other than food at the waterpark as it was convenient even though it was expensive. Pro tip especially for adults - wear water shoes, your feet will thank you! My only wish is the water park was open a little later than 8. My 10 year old son was off and running most of the time with the other family we were traveling with. My 6 year old spent the majority of her time in the wave pool or climbing the lily pads even though she did go down a few slides. The lazy river is very small and it was shutdown briefly once because someone went number 2 in the pool - again, out of their control. They also had to shutdown the slides that go outside one night due to a thunderstorm and lightening which is obviously for safety and out of their control. There were a few times when the lesser used slides were closed likely due to staffing but it didn't really impact our fun. I was very concerned by previous comments that we would find the waterpark attractions to be limited and closed. I did overhear the arcade attendant state the points per game are less when the waterpark is open so your credits go further than after the water park closes. ![]() I bought my 10 year old extra arcade credits as that's more what he's into more so than the little kid stuff. Be prepared to be upsold on fancier wands too. Otherwise I don't know that the Dells activity passes are worth it unless you want to play MagiQuest. We got our moneys worth out of it with the other things included in the pass. The bonus is the Pup Pass includes other discounts like BOGO 50% for Build a Bear Clothes/Accessories, 25% off Oliver's Mining, 25% of Bubble Blowers, and 25% off Leather bracelets. My youngest wanted to do Build a Bear so I did buy the Pup Pass since the $32.99 bear is included. We did MagiQuest to some extent in Minneapolis, mostly just making the different things light up more so than playing the game, but we didn't have time to do so at the Dells even though we brought our wands with us. Minneapolis has some extra non-water activities like the bowling alley, ropes course, climbing wall. The Dells has a much larger waterpark that Minneapolis. We previously stayed at the Minneapolis GWL two years ago for three nights. GWL is geared toward younger kids but the waterpark has enough to keep bigger kids entertained. I didn't really notice all the "run down" comments others have but this was our first time so I don't know what it was like previously. I actually prefer the texting service to get fresh towels and have other questions answered as it is highly convenient. There was some dust on the nightstand but otherwise our room was sufficiently clean and spacious. The beds aren't the best but I've slept in much worse too. I actually slept in the non-bunk bed in the cabin as my husband and I don't sleep well together in anything less than a King bed. We splurged on a Kids Cabin Suite as they are only little for so long and its exciting for them.
